FLOYD: That’s where she at. She out there in Greenwood. I was out there today. Me and Canewell went out there. They got her buried over in the poor-people part. Took me three hours to find the grave. They let the grass grow all over. I took and pulled up the grass and cleaned off her grave. Said I was gonna get her a marker. And that’s what I’m gonna do. Because when I leave this time I ain’t planning on coming back. I get her that marker and I won’t owe nobody nothing.

CANEWELL: They got everybody buried out there. They got George Butler buried out there. They got Jack Harding buried out there. Ed Weatherby. Uncle Doc and Aunt Lil. Raymond Polk. They got everybody buried out there in the poor section. You go out here and kill somebody, they’ll take him out there and bury him. Lightning come along and strike you and they’ll take you out there and bury you right beside him. It don’t matter what your dispute was. Death come along and say, “Wham! Dispute that!” Death is fairer than life. He got a hundred seventeen men to do his bidding. He like the devil, he ain’t never satisfied. The devil get a hundred and seventeen men he want seventeen hundred and one more.
